Hi, I am Alima and I am a second-year BSc Chemistry student at the University of Edinburgh. I have started painting when I was four or five years old and until the age of 13, I went to art classes multiple times a week. In my teenage years, I lost motivation to keep practicing and stopped… right until the summer of 2023. I did not have many plans that summer so I just painted and painted and painted, and somehow, my passion for the art reignited. 

What I love the most about painting is that it allows me to enter a state of focus and zen. It is a lot of fun for me to mix colours and to try and replicate colours I see in nature using pigments. I believe this love of colour is central to my work, which you can view in the Gallery section of the website.
